The final edition of the NWTCA/CNW Teams of the Decade shifts to our female competition, starting with the 2011-12 season.
The inaugural season started with six clubs, including Launceston, and underwent several tweaks, including Greater Northern competitions and the introduction of Sheffield and the re-emergence of Devonport ahead of the 2018-19 season.
Led by Alison Kamphuis, Ulverstone took out the maiden grand final, followed by Launceston in a Greater Northern Cup decider the following season.
Wynyard then emerged as the superpower of the competition under the guidance of Cherie Hawkins, winning four-straight flags with a talent-laden team that included Sam Cotton, Kahla Summers and Jaime Bradley.
It was then Latrobe’s turn to dominate as the Demons saluted in the next two grand finals, before Sheffield claimed a historic title in just its second season.
As per the men’s teams, those selected had to have played a minimum of three season to be eligible for selection.
